HAPOALIM CREDIT RATINGS RISE

Bank Hapoalim, which accounts for more than one third of the Israeli banking system�s total assests, received an upgrade in credit ratings from Moody�s, the international rating company. The long-term rating was raised to a2, and the short-term to p1 � the highest possible because Moody�s will not rank an institution higher than the country in which it is located. The improved ratings will enhance Bank Hapoalim�s ability to participate in international credit syndicates and raise money abroad.
