Workers at Israel Aircraft Industries are concerned that a cancellation of orders, including the sale of the Phalcon airborne command and control plane to China, could result in large-scale layoffs, Yediot Aharonot reported on August 15. Other recent setbacks by the government-owned firm include the loss of a hoped-for contract to supply 145 combat helicopters, together with Kamov of Russia, to Turkey, and the cancellation of a civilian aircraft project with Fairchild Industries.
